A Day for Any Date

I first read about “A Day for Any Date” in Tony Corinda’s 13 Steps to Mentalism back when I was about 13 years old, in 2004. I always found the effect very interesting, but I felt I was never fast enough with the math to perform it. I forgot about the effect and moved on. 

One day recently, I discovered iOS shortcuts. I began scrolling through websites with lists of shortcuts, how they work and what they can do. I was not even thinking about magic at this point, kind of just seeing what was out there. I found one shortcut that allowed a user to type in the date and it presented the day of the week that it corresponded with. It immediately hit me.
